The third game of the season for Bolton against the Keene Beavers in Bolton started out flat. The boys were again having trouble running offensive sets against a lousy Keene zone. Keene did have a large frontcourt, so the guardplay of Cody Kober, Ben Gaddy and Luke Shane was key in the matchup. In the first half, Gaddy Kober and Shane were cold on offense. Shane had 4 in the first half, and Gaddy and Kober had 6 and 2 points, respectively. Moreover, Dan Sherman had the hot hand in the first half, as he scored 11 of Bolton's 24 points in the first half. At halftime, the score being 24-12 Eagles, Bolton was searching for an answer. They were up 12, but Bolton, being the superior athletic team, should have been up by atleast twenty or thirty points. Eagles coach Mr. Mark Andrekovics let the boys knew how he felt. He told the boys about their laziness and lack of effort in the first half, which was the reason for their dismal play. Nobody was happy about their defence, which was extremely lazy. Nobody played tough man defence, and boxing out on both ends was still an issue for the boys. In the second half, things turned dramatically for Bolton. They brought out the 1-2-2 full-court press, which was very effective. Keene's guards just could not handle Bolton's pressure. Bolton started stealing the ball on defence and that translated into easy layups. The Eagles also were using the fast-break to pull away from the Beavers. Dan Sherman stole the ball 4 times, and Kober held Bolton together with his excellent distributing of the basketball to Ben Gaddy and Luke Shane. Sherman finished with 13 points, and Gaddy, Kober, and Shane finished with a combined 30+ points. The key to the game was the press, as Bolton defeated the Keene Beavers on December 14, 2005 at Bolton Central School.
