The championship game of the Granville Holiday Tournament was a hard-fought game for Bolton. They were facing the Granville Horde, with one thing on their minds; winning and taking home the trophy and 1st place of the tournament. The first quarter was extremely shaky for the Eagles, as they were shutout by Granville. The first quarter score was 12-0. Bolton was lost for words, and they could not believe that they were already down by so much. Coach Andrekovics was able to rally the boys after the end of the first quarter, and with his experience and shifting of game plans, was able to get the Eagles' deficit down to 4 at halftime, 14-10. Bolton showed stellar defense in the first quarter after their atrocious defense in the first quarter. The Eagles brought out their full court press, and it created a lot of turnovers. Granville could not handle the pressure. Ben Gaddy had 6 of the 10 points in the second quarter, and kept Bolton alive throught the game. Sophomore guard Luke Shane had the other 4 points, but missed a lot of open shots that could have given Bolton the lead in the first half. Shane finished with 15 points, and 3-5 from 3 point range, but was also 0-5 from the line. In the second half, Granville used their size as an advantage, but Juniors Matt Cleavland and Dan Sherman were very aggressive. They boxed out with precision and grabbed most of the boards in the second half. Freshmen DJ Dimauro and Robbie Chapman were also a huge help down low with rebounds. They held their ground and showed that their heart size is tremendous. In the fourth quarter, Bolton pulled within 1 with consecutive shots by Cody Kober and Gaddy. Gaddy finished with 12 points. However, the first quarter start was a huge burden that Bolton was not able to come out of as the Granville Horde outlasted the Bolton Eagles, 31-28 in Granville.
