With their third away game in as many days, the Bolton Eagles boys JV Basketball Team was somewhat fatigued from all the travelling and games. Westport was a noticeably larger team, so there was no question that Freshman Robbie Chapman and Juniors Dan Sherman and Matt Cleavland were going to be a big part in the success of Bolton. Again, the boys started out with a slow start on both ends of the floor as the first quarter score was Westport 17, Bolton 7. The guards (especially Kober Gaddy and Shane) were not playing well. The Westport half-court trap was giving Gaddy, Kober and Shane a lot of difficulties with their offensive sets. Bolton also hit a stroke of luck as sophomore guard Luke Shane hit 3 consecutive bank 3-pointers; something that is extremely rare and should not have happened, but for some strange reason, it did. Shane finished with 21 points, and was 5-8 from 3 point land. Robbie Chapman and Dan Sherman played very well in the first half. Both pulled down the majority of Bolton's rebounds, and Chapman chipped in with a nice fadeaway jumper from 15 feet. Ben Gaddy had 8 points in the first half, and finished with 12 overall. In the second half, Bolton's full court press again helped the boys as they pulled in within 7 in the third quarter. But, the size of Westport was just too much down the stretch as Westport prevailed over Bolton, 54-37 on January 6, 2006.
